The City of Troutdale is looking to the future with the development of a new Parks Master Plan. The Parks Master Plan is the primary source of identifying future parks, improvements, and investments in Troutdale's parks and facilities. The Plan was last updated in 2006 and we are entering the final stages of developing an update.

A draft of the updated plan and a draft technical appendix are now available for public review.

The draft Plan is based on public input received from the Parks Advisory Committee, community surveys, First Friday events, and an open house conducted 2021-2022. Public review of the draft Plan and adoption by City Council will be the final review activities for the Parks Master Plan update project.

The draft Plan sets renewed direction for the City's parks system based on community values and needs, and a comprehensive analysis of current challenges and future opportunities. The draft Plan inventories existing parks and facilities, identifies community needs, and directs funding and investment over the next 20 years. The recommendations include improvements for existing parks as well as proposals for new trails, four new parks, and expanded recreation program and volunteer opportunities.

The City is asking the public for feedback on the draft Plan via the Parks Master Plan comment form. The City will use this feedback to consider any needed refinements to the draft document. Feedback should be submitted by January 23, 2023.

The City Council will review the Plan in late January 2023 and consider any further refinements for adoption.
